Current drivers license and utility bill with the name and address of the custodial parent/guardian. What are the on-time application deadlines?
Applications will be available beginning in January for the 2010-2011 school year. The secondary school on-time application deadline is February 28th, 2010. The elementary school on-time application deadline is March 5th, 2010. What happens to my application?
All on-time applications are treated equally. If there are more applications than space available, board-approved preferences are used. Sibling and attendance area preference is given to on-time applications.
Why is an intake appointment necessary?
During intake, students and their families meet with staff to prepare for enrolling in school. An intake appointment ensures a smooth entry into the school system and that students understand all available options.
What happens during intake? Available school choice options are discussed. English Language Learners (ELL) students are given a language assessment and offered ELL programs according to need. Records for students who have been receiving special education services are reviewed; connections are made with special education resource teachers to secure placement in the correct programs. All students receive a health assessment, immunization updates and connections to community health resources as needed. When students leave the Placement Center, their information is immediately available to the schools in which they will enroll.
